This innovative synthetic bristle brush has individual hairs that have been split to replicate the natural flags on the finest natural brush. Designed for use with medium to heavy-bodied acrylics and oil paints, the Catalyst Polytip pushes even heavy gel media with assurance. The head is stiff yet responsive, and unlike natural hog bristles, it has real integrity in water.
Falling somewhere between a flat and a round, filbert brushes have rounded corners that help creating strokes without hard edges.
They are the most versatile of the brush shapes and a staple of oil and acrylic painting.
The main brush stroke is broad and soft, letting new marks easily blend into those previously lain.
Can be used on its side to create thin lines, or swiveled mid-stroke for a tapered line.
